The T-54 will be the next generation advanced turboprop training aircraft. The aircraft will be a T-tailed King Air 260, replacing the aging King Air H90 aircraft that have been in continuous service with the Navy since 1977, and they have changed very little in that time. In fact, the only major update came in 2006, when all T-44s were upgraded from Alpha to Charlie models, with a modern avionic deck. The T-54 delivers a fresh, glass cockpit that will allow aviators to transition to advance aircraft with ease, and improved performance that will deliver many years of service, taking the Naval training fleet well into the mid-21st Century.
